| 講演タイトル | "Inter-kingdom signaling: Plant extracellular metabolites as virulence-regulating cues for phytopathogenic bacteria" ＜要旨＞ My laboratory investigates the complex chemical signaling that occurs between plant pathogenic bacteria and their hosts during infection. A primary goal is to understand how the bacterial pathogen Pseudomonas syringae uses plant-exuded metabolites as chemical cues to deploy its virulence factors. In my talk I will describe our efforts to identify and characterize P. syringae receptors and signaling pathways that detect and respond to specific host metabolite signals. I will also describe our work to understand how plant pattern-triggered immunity (PTI) interferes with the ability of P. syringae to detect these host signals and induce its virulence genes. We use a combination of biochemical, genetic and metabolomics approaches to address these research questions. |
