| 講演タイトル | Prof. Wei Zhang (Centre for Marine Bioproducts Development; College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders University, Australia) [要旨] The sustainable future of our planet and human society is dependent on the advances in our technological capacity in management of our resources of both non-renewable and renewable. Ocean covers about 70% of the earth surface, which provides a vast quantity and diversity of marine bio-resources. These bio-resources are largely under-explored, and have emerged as new feedstock for the growth of future generation of blue bio-industry. Marine ecosystem and biodiversity are however fragile, and the knowledge and technology for sustainable utilization must be developed to ensure marine bio-resources truly renewable. Biorefinery intensified by clean technologies of marine bio-resources is an enabling technology platform to achieve these goals for circular economy. In this presentation, we will draw a few case studies to demonstrate the concept, principle and industrial applications of biorefinery process of marine micro-algae, macroalgae, and fish-processing co-products for comprehensive utilization of these resources with zero wastes using clean technology solutions in the context of Circular Economy. All these technology advances will not only create economic and environmental benefits for the industry, but also promote the industrial sustainability. However the majority of these technologies focus on primary processing, advanced secondary and tertiary processing will be critical to advance in the future. |
